Meet the Instructor

Hi! My name is Lauren Wilt. I am a Baton Rouge native, mom to two teenage boys, married to my chef husband for 20+ years. The first ISR Instructor in Louisiana. 2023 I earned my Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.

I chose ISR because my kids needed the skills. In the Summer of 2007 my oldest son had a non-fatal without injury drowning accident. It was at a club, with a lifeguard on duty, surrounded by adults. I did not know. I did not know it only took seconds. I didn’t know it was silent. I didn’t know it was the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1-4 years. Someone sent me a video. It is known as the Miles ISR video. A young child, Miles, tumbles into the water, rolls to his back, safely floats until he could be rescued. That! My kids needed to know how to do that!

I researched ISR thoroughly and knew right away they had the best training program and support system for instructors available. ISR is the safest provider of ISR Self-Rescue lessons available. Child safety and drowning prevention are my passion.
